Cargo Hold Walkthrough
Walkthrough for the Cargo Hold in The Mermaid Mask: Mariana Moon interview, Silkwirm map, crew position pinboard, and mushroom puzzle box access.
The Cargo Hold is a furnace-warmed storage deck where Mariana Moon maintains historical archives and rehearsal props. Community guides from Into Indie Games and 9Puz agree: interview Moon thoroughly, collect the Silkwirm map from left-side bags, and defer the large crew pinboard until every living crew member has been met—including Airlock Grotto introductions. Solving the pinboard too early turns a current-position puzzle into an unreliable memory test.
Examination Route
Official Release Date Trailer — SFB Games
- Mariana Moon interview: Ask standard alibi, clue, and crew roster questions before inspecting hotspots—Moon unlocks pinboard UI after her first full conversation.
- Silkwirm map: Search left-side cargo bags; map cross-references town square fish market schedules and Zephyr navigation notes.
- Pinboard deferral: Leave the right-side portrait board unsolved until Airlock Grotto completes; then place crew by current map rooms with Mortuga off the board entirely.
- Mushroom tent: After reporting to Sinthia, access the mushroom puzzle box in the cargo tent for glowing species counts.
Pinboard Logic Reminder
The Cargo Hold pinboard represents who is aboard and where they are now, not the murder-day timeline Moon recounts. Sally and Grimoire belong with Mariana in the Cargo Hold; Magnus Mortuga is deceased and must remain off the active layout. KosGuides and 9Puz both warn against forcing Mortuga into a cabin square—a logic check that survives even when exact pin coordinates vary by guide screenshot. Once the roster puzzle completes, return to Captain's Cabin threads if the Glass Eyeball key function is still unclear.
